The amount of noise from the alternator is probably causes the difference. The ground wire has a connector mounted on the battery support box. The Dodge dealer is unlikely to make modification that are not sanctioned by the factory. As it was going in reverse, the door hit a concrete pillar used to support parking lot lights and bent the door forward considerably past the point of normal opening.

I left my truck running at a gas station one morning which I rarely do and while I was inside paying for a cup of coffee my truck took off in reverse and crashed into a utility poll. The Dodge Ram has been the subject of several recalls enacted by Chrysler to address known issues. Beware of rebuilt alternators that could already have leaky rectifiers. He had left the driver's side door open while pumping fuel into the vehicle. The recall, issued in December of 2003, dealt with fasteners that affixed the transmission to the transfer case. This all came clear as to way your brilliant filter has fixed my great truck which I still have and many others. From a safety standpoint, there is no value here as the driver just becomes accustom to ignoring the alarm.

The contact drove into the driveway, placed the vehicle in park, walked to the back of the vehicle ,and the gear moved on its own into into reverse and hit another vehicle. I have friends that work for a dealer and none of them made a suggestion like this to fix the problem. There are several basic ways to identify one of these Ram transmission problems. The failure mileage was 28,300 and current mileage was 29,000. The intermittent problem I have been plagued with is gone. See the problem theory below.
